February Newsletter

Hiya – Here are our Feb updates

We have a couple of weeks left of our Winter Strength & Mobility Series. You can still pick up these classes on a drop-in basis. We’ll have a week off (16th Feb). Then a new 6-week block will begin on the 23rd Feb – Winter Strong & Flexible Series. This will be another S&C block, but with a different approach – details below.

Functional Yoga in Heptonstall continues, but with one eye on the weather. There won’t be a class on Wednesday 11th – I’ll check whether it’s an option to do it on the Thursday 12th that week and update through socials.

Morning Yoga is now included in the Patreon Stretch and Recovery Subscription as well as being available as a drop in class.

Feel Good Friday Yoga – Oxenhope is on hold until the weather improves and we can go outside. The cricket pavilion was a nice alternative, but wasn’t as nice as being outside. We’ll be back once we can practice in the park again.

Patreon – thanks for your patience with the switch over to Patreon for class recordings. I’m aware this has had a couple of teething problems. I’ve added a “how to” guide below for accessing individual classes and the series playlist. Hopefully this will make things easier. Please get in touch

The SumUp Store will be updated by the end of Sunday 1st February.

Winter Strength and Mobility Series

We have a couple more sessions of our Winter Strength and Mobility Series.

You can drop in and do single classes. We’ll be focusing on the core and spine on the 2nd Feb and it’ll be a full body session on the 9th

These sessions are on Mondays. 7:00-7:45pm on Zoom.

It’s £5 per session. Click on the image below to sign up.

Winter Strong and Flexible Series

The next block will start on Monday 23rd February. These are going to be Yin/Yang style sessions – doing S&C for the first half, followed by deeper stretch and relaxation for the second half. We’ll continue with another round of strengthening yoga to support winter training – especially for those doing base miles or building up for a big spring race. The sessions offer a nice mix of strength work and stretching, so you don’t need to be training for anything at all – it’s a good maintenance/self-care class on its own.

The Winter Strong and Flexible Series will run from 23rd February to the 30th March

Functional Yoga for Active Bodies

Our Heptonstall Functional Yoga for Active Bodies class is back up and running after a couple of false starts due to the weather.

This class is open to all – it’s aimed at people who want to use yoga to support physical and mental wellbeing with an emphasis on using yoga to help active folks look after themselves and have a little chill out time.

We start each class by having a chat about what aches, pains or niggles people have tailor the class to what folks need.

Winter Weather Note: If it’s snowy or icy, please keep an eye out for updates about this class. I will struggle to get from Oakworth to Heptonstall if the weather is bad.

This is £10 per session or you can get a clock of 5 classes for £40 (valid for 10-weeks). Click the image below to sign up

Morning Yoga (online)

Morning yoga is now running on Fridays 7-7:30 on Zoom. This is being added to the Stretch and Recovery subscription and can be done as a drop in class through the SumUp store.

Stretch and Recovery Sessions

For February, there will be three 30-minute Stretch and Recovery sessions, rather than two 45-minute classes. These will be available to buy from SumUp or through the subscription on Patreon. Let me know what you think. I happy to mix it up, make it a permanent change or return to 2 classes.
