September Newsletter

I don’t know about anyone else, but this summer has felt full to the brim – It’s been fun playing out so much, but I’m feeling tired. With schools going back next week, the nights drawing in and the weather getting a little more unsettled, it feels like the right time to do more indoors and settle back into a routine.

Throughout September we have our regular Monday Yoga for Runners Classes and Wednesday Morning Online Class followed by the Return to Running Programme at Woodville.

We also have an Introduction to Yoga for Runners Workshop later in the month.

Details for all classes and workshops are below.

New Stuff Coming Soon….

Throughout the summer, I’ve been Yoga Busking at a regular spot in Oxenhope. Plans are underway to find somewhere warm and dry so the Friday afternoon class can continue through the Autumn and Winter.

There are also plans in place for a regular class in Heptonstall on Thursday evenings. The first session is due to be at the end of September. Further information will be posted soon.

Yoga for Runners Classes

Our September Monday night Yoga for Runners sessions will help us prepare for the Autumn conditions and get us for ready for the XC season. We’ll work on balance, core and glutes as well as getting a good stretch to make sure we’re ready for slippery, muddy and uneven terrain.

Oakworth Methodist Church 6:30-7:15pm

Online (Zoom) 7:30-8:15pm

You can also pick up the recording of the zoom class to do any time and you can get the September online classes as a block – links below.

Wednesday Morning Online Class

Introduction to Yoga for Runners Workshop

Workshop Date: Tuesday 23rd September

Time: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Venue: Sowerby Bridge Fire & Water, 11-15 Hollins Mill Ln, Sowerby Bridge HX6 2QG

This 2-hour beginner-friendly workshop is designed especially for runners who are interested in doing yoga to support their running. It’s perfect if you haven’t done yoga before and aren’t sure where to begin or worry that lack of flexibility is a barrier. It’s also great for anyone wanting to utilise yoga to supplement their training, whether this is to improve form, reduce injury risk or to get stronger, faster or more mobile.

Return to Running Programme

The return to running programme is underway. You can still join for sessions throughout September – These are taking place 9:30 ’til 10:30 at Woodville Community on 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th September.

These are mixed movement training sessions that combine running drills, strength & conditioning exercises, mobility and stretching – all designed to support your running.
