After picking up a couple of viruses over the past month, I had been reminded of the importance of rest and recovery. While I’m not great at doing nothing, I find yoga (yin & restorative) helps me rest and stay relatively still, but move enough to maintain some sanity and help me cope with the aches and pains that come with being unwell.
This has inspired planning for the next block of classes which will focus on maintenance and look after our bodies so they remain cooperative.
It’s rubbish when we can’t get out running, so better to get the prehab in so we can keep doing what we love.
Online Zoom Classes
Our November Zoom classes will work on a different target areas each week. These four sessions will provide care, attention and maintenance to the areas we work hard as well as the ones we neglect. Whether long-winter miles are just around the corner or you want to make sure everything is working as it should, it’s worth doing a quick body MOT and Service.

The online session take place on Monday evening’s at 6:30pm, you can dip in as a when it suits you or you can join for the whole block. There’s also an option to buy the recording of the zoom session, so you can do it whenever you like. Sign up is via the YfR SumUp Store
The focus of each session will be:
4th – Hips & Glutes / 11th – Back & Shoulders / 18th – Quad & Hammies / 25th – Joints

Monthly Otley Class
The next Otley Class is on Wednesday 6th November, 6:00-7:00pm – Otley Scout Hut, Burras Lane.
This class will work on strength/stability, mobility/range of movement and tension release. We’ll take a bit of time at the start of the class to chat and see if anyone has any specific aches, pains, tight spots or requests.

Stretch & Recovery
Stretch / Recovery Classes – SumUp Link

Two 45-minute recorded classes to aid recovery.
These classes will be available for the whole month to do whenever you like and repeat as many times as you like. When you sign up you’ll be sent a link to a playlist that contains 2 classes.
These sessions are great as active recovery after a long run, to do during the week if you’re feeling stiff or tired, to help relieve tightness or to just relax and de-stress.
