July Update

It suddenly feels like summer is in full flow. There’s a race almost every evening, our bodies are trying to adjust to hot muggy weather and we’re keen to get as much as possible crammed into each day to make the most it.

With that in mind I’m going to tweak the Stretch & Recovery Recorded classes and record a couple at the beginning of the month and make then available for the whole month, that way they’re just there for whenever you need a bit of active recovery.

After a break for the mid-week Otley races, we’re back to the usual monthly schedule for the class at the Scout Hut – details below.

Monthly Otley Class

The next Otley Class is on Wednesday 3rd July, 6:00-7:00pm – Otley Scout Hut, Burras Lane.

This class will work on strength/stability, mobility/range of movement and tension release. Please complete the form to sign up if you plan to come along – Sign up form or pick up the class from the YfR Store

The following session will be on Wednesday the 7th August.

Online Zoom Classes

Although there are 5 Monday’s in July, the block will just use the first 4 Monday (we’ll borrow the last one for the August block). The 4 sessions this month are (Monday 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd July) – As always you can dip in and pick up individual classes or join for the full block.

1st July ~ Full-Body – Hatha (This style of yoga is practised more slowly and with more static holds)

Monday 8th July ~ Full-Body – Yin Yang Yoga (two styles of yoga in one class – bringing together the benefits of passively holding yoga poses with more dynamic sequences and standing postures.)

Monday 15th July ~ Full-Body – Flow (Moving from one pose to another in a continuous, smooth way)

Monday 22nd July ~ Full-Body – Yin (passive, longer targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues – ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks)

Recordings / Recorded Classes

If you can’t make the Monday zoom session or just prefer to do the class at a different time, you can pick up the recording of the class.

Stretch / Recovery Classes

Two 45-minute recorded classes to aid recovery.

These classes will be available throughout July. When you sign up you’ll be sent a link to a playlist that contains 2 classes.

These sessions are great as active recovery after a long run, to do during the week if you’re feeling stiff or tired or to help relieve tightness.

Blocks

If you’re planning on coming to a class every week or need that extra push to keep you motivated, you can pick up the classes as a block.

July – Maintenance – Zoom Block – You’ll be sent the Zoom link each week or if you can’t make it, I’ll send the link to the recording after the class. The block includes access to four 60-minute Zoom classes.
