February Update

What a wild January it has been and it seems to have flown by!

I always enjoy yoga more in winter as I appreciate keeping moving, but not getting covered in mud or being beaten up by the weather. That said I have thoroughly enjoyed a few blustery, icy, snowy runs in recent weeks.

A big thank you to everyone who has joined the S&C sessions and came to the Otley class in January.

Online Classes

This month our Monday zoom yoga classes will be a different style of yoga each week. Designed to support winter training with plenty of strength/stability, but also including more stretch and tension release than we had in January to ensure that mobility and running form aren’t hindered by tight muscles.

There will be 4 sessions (5th, 12th, 19th & 26th Feb) – You’re welcome to dip in and out or join for the full block.

For online classes I’ve set up blocks, so if you plan to do the zoom class, recordings on Sunday Stretch every week, you can just pick up the block and don’t have to do it each week. The option to sign up on a week by week basis is still there too.

Monday 5th February – Hatha – Holding poses for 5-10 breaths and have options to repeat or progress to increase the challenge or deepen the stretch.

Monday 12th February– Flow – Moving throughout – flowing between poses increases the stretch, challenges balance and aids range of movement in the joints.

Monday 19th February – Yin / Yang – Working on strength and stamina in the first half, then the second half will be deep stretches held for 60-90 seconds. It should be a good S&C blast to start, then spending the second half stretching should relieve physical and mental tension.

Monday 26th February – Mixed Movement – Moving in lots of different ways. Keeping things varied is good for the body and mind. This will include different styles of yoga and ways of moving. It’ll have benefits on the strength and stretch front, but also a good dose of movement massage.

Stretch/Recovery Recorded Classes

Weekly recorded Stretch/Recovery classes are released on Sunday mornings and available for 7-days. There are the last couple of weeks and the upcoming week on there. Details of the session will be shared on facebook and twitter.

Blocks

February Full-Body Block (Zoom) – You’ll be sent the Zoom link each week or if you can’t make it, just let me know and I can send the link to the recording after the class.

February Full-Body Block – Plus Recordings – There is also an option to get the recording in addition to the zoom classes. If you get the block plus recordings, you’ll have access to the classes until the end of March.

February Full-Body Block (Class Recordings) – Recordings will be sent out each week after the zoom session and will be available for 7 days.

February Sunday Stretch Session Block – Recorded classes will be sent by 10am on Sunday morning and will be available for 7 days. The block includes four 45-minute sessions.

Monthly Otley Class

The next Otley Class is on Wednesday 7th February, 6:00-7:00pm – Otley Scout Hut, Burras Lane.

This class will work on strength/stability, mobility/range of movement and tension release.
