It feels like I blinked and November almost completely disappeared. As December is just around the corner and winter is fast approaching, I’m starting to think a little more about how our Monday classes can support winter base training and long runs. It also mean that our next Otley class is not too far away, so I need to give it a little plug.
Sunday Stretch – Recorded Class – Relax & De-Stress
Available from 10am on Sunday 26th November
45-minutes – Relax & De-Stress Class
Things can start getting a bit manic and over-whelming at this time of year, so the next few recorded Sunday class will both offer physical and mental recovery / down time. As mental stress can have physical effects and increase perceived effort when training / racing, it’s definitely worth doing a little to address this.
Monday 27th November, 6:30-7:30pm – Zoom – Posture & Alignment
This week we’ll switch between poses to engage/activate the glutes and stretches/movements to release tension in the lower back. The glutes can be lazy and make the lower back do their work, so it’s good to wake up the glutes and de-stress the lower back in one session.
The zoom link will be sent out 30 minutes before the class
If you can’t make the Zoom classes, you can pick up the recordings instead.
Wednesday 6th December, 6:00-7:00pm – Otley Scout Hut, Burras Lane.
This 60-minute class will be a mix of strength/stability, mobility/range of movement and tension release. Designed to be an all round class to support running, training and racing – although it’s planned with runners in mind, anyone is welcome and can benefit from the session.
