Winter Strength & Stretch – Week 3 – Core Stability
Throughout January our Monday classes will focus on S&C to support winter base training. We will take more of a yin/yang yoga approach, so we’ll do 30-40 mins of strength/stability/balance work, then finish with 20-30 mins of tension release, stretching and relaxation.
This week we’ll focus on core stability – engaging the muscles through the front, back and sides of the torso to support good form/posture. The stretch and relax part of the class will take the spine through flexion, extension, lateral flexion (side bending) and rotation to promote good spinal health and release muscular tension
