Flow and Shoulder Opening

This week we will start our class with a heat building, strengthening flow – using variations of sun salutations to improve stamina as we lengthen, strengthen and energise the whole body and start to loosen and mobilise the back and shoulders.

For the second part of the class we will move on to deeper stretches that will work on shoulder opening and back release – as runners we often neglect these areas, but stretching, strengthening and releasing tension in the back, chest and shoulders is key for runners and cyclist who natural hunch forwards. In the class we will work through postures that can be hugely beneficial for improving posture and for increasing space to breathe more deeply.
