Yoga for HIPS – Workshop

Saturday 13th April 2019 – 10am-11:30

Joint capsule of the hip

It is very common for everyone to have tight hips, especially if you sit or drive a lot for work, but runners in particular can suffer with this even more.  Tightness through the hip flexors – at the front, the glutes and piriformis – at the back and around the socket can all be problematic.  This tightness, if not tackled can develop to cause pain around the hips, lower back and hamstrings, eventually leading to significant imbalance in the body and injury.

Yoga is a great way address tightness and hip issues before they become injuries.  I’m really excited to offer this workshop, as this kind of body work is so beneficial to my own running, I’d like you to feel the benefits too.

Workshop Details:

90 minute class guiding you through postures to address deep rooted tightness in the hip area.

Time at the end of the class to ask questions, get tips on postures that target specific areas

Optional run (5 or 6 miles) on the Chevin to test out how the hips are feeling and focus on good running posture to reduce strain in the hips.

Cost: £15

Venue: Otley Scout and Guide HQ on Burras Lane, Otley. (Click for Map)
